Cake Classes December  2011

  Friday 2nd of December 2011
Beginners 5 Hand bag class 10 -6pm.
 Cost of class $340 + gst Total to pay $374. 


In this class you will learn how to carve your cake, ganaching your cake in preparation for covering with sugar paste. We will learn how to create a quilted effect make an edible zip and learn how to make the designer logo.

You will also learn how to make sugar paste cut outs and how to apply them to the cake.
A light lunch and refreshments are provided. Please bring an apron and wear comfortable enclosed shoes. This class is only available if you have completed either beginners 2 or 3 class, as you will need to have learnt the stages of preparing your cake for ganaching and covering your cake with sugar paste before advancing to this class.

Beginners 5 class Fairy figurine cake 9.30am to 6pm . Cost of class $340 + gst Total to pay $374

In this class you will learn how to level your cake, ganaching your cake in preparation for covering with sugar paste. You will learn how to create a marble effect on the cake board with sugar paste as well as create a twisted sugar paste plait around the base of the cake.
Learn how to model an adorable sugar paste fairy with cute wings and a magical wand .You will learn how to make sugar paste cut outs and how to apply to the cake.
This class is only available if you have completed either beginners 2 or 3 class, as you will need to have learnt the stages of preparing your cake for ganaching and covering your cake with sugar paste before advancing to this class.
A light lunch will be provided and refreshments . Please bring an apron and wear comfortable enclosed shoes.


Sunday 4th of December 2011
Beginners 3 Bow cake workshop 10-6pm. Cost of class $340 + gst Total to pay $374 .1 day class


In this class you will learn how to level your  round cake, ganaching your cake in preparation for covering with sugar paste. Sugar paste ribbons will be made to decorate your cake with a show topping bow, placed on top. You will learn how to make sugar paste cut outs and how to apply to the cake.
A light lunch will be provided and refreshments . Please bring an apron and wear comfortable enclosed shoes.



  Saturday 10th of December 2011
Adults and Teenagers workshop. For students in year 12 Beginners 2 Shooting stars cake workshop 10-6pm . Cost of class $340 + gst Total to pay $374. 1 day class


In this class you will decorate a round chocolate mud cake. You will learn how to level your cake, ganache your cake in preparation for covering with sugar paste. Sugar paste wired stars will be made to decorate your cake. We will learn how to make sugar paste cut outs and apply to the cake. Please bring an apron and wear comfortable enclosed shoes.A light lunch and refreshments are provided.

Sunday 11th of December 2011
Christmas cake demonstration 1pm to 4pm. Cost of class $220 + gst Total to pay $242. Part One


Learn how to bake a delicious moist fruit cake from preparing the fruit to using the best quality ingredients. I will show you how to create a beautiful tasting cake that will wow your guests.
The cake recipe will be demonstrated, the baking of the cake during the class and the storage of the cake prior to decoration.
I will also be running a Christmas Cake decorating class for you to attend and you will need to make your 6"cake and bring your cake to the class.

Monday 12th of December 2011


Beginners 6 Animal circus tent 9.30-6pm. Cost of class

$340 + gst Total to pay $374. 1 day class

You will learn how to carve a tent shape from a cake and learn how to ganache the cake.
Using sugar paste we will learn how to cover this unusual shape and then model cute friendly animals poking out from the opening doors.Photo to follow shortly.A light lunch will be provided and refreshments. Please bring an apron and wear comfortable enclosed shoes.

Thursday 15th of December 2011
Beginners 8 Miniature cake class 9.30-6pm . Cost of class $440 + gst  Total to pay $484. 1 day class


Learn how to carve and shape 6 miniature (2 square, 2round and 2 heart shaped cakes) cakes prior to covering with sugar paste. Miniature cakes are very popular in the bridal services and can be tailor made to the bridal couples requirements.Please bring an apron and wear comfortable enclosed shoes. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Sunday 18th of December 2011

Christmas cake workshop 10-4pm. Cost of the class

Cost of class $220 + gst Total to pay $242. Part two


Bring your Christmas cake along , this will need to be a 6"cake ( if your cake is larger an additional cost will be charged depending upon the size) and learn how to cover and decorate. We will model using sugar paste a Christmas tree, choir boys and snow effect on the top of the cake.A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please bring an apron and wear comfortable enclosed shoes.

Monday 19th of December 2011
Christmas cookies 10-6pm . Cost of class $340 + gst Total to pay $374. 1 day class

 
 
A demonstration of making a vanilla biscuit and chilling and rolling to the right thickness and then you will get to make and bake a selection of different shaped cookies.
You will then decorate the cookies and create your beautiful Christmas festive designs.
The biscuits are decorated with sugar paste using a variety of cutters, flower cutters and embossers.
Learn how to package the cookies to either display on your Christmas trees or displays.Please bring an apron and wear comfortable enclosed shoes. A light lunch and refreshments are provided. Photos to follow soon



Tuesday 20th of December 2011
Cake pops 10-6pm . Cost of class $340 + gst Total to pay $374.


In this class we will learn how to make the latest trend from America, Cake Pops. A delicious combination of cake and ganache combined and modelled onto a lolly stick and then dipped in chocolate. Perfect for making childrens parties go with a bang!

We will make a variety of colours and shapes including  snowmen, parcels, christmas trees and more! perfect for this festive season. Learn how to make ganache, colour chocolate and package these tasty treats.
Please bring an apron and wear comfortable enclosed shoes. A light lunch and refreshments are provided. Photos to follow soon.

Childrens Christmas cookies 10-3pm. Suitable for children aged 8 and above . Cost of class $220 + gst Total to pay $242. 1 day class Please note parental supervision is required

In this workshop using already baked cookies we will learn how to decorate using festive coloured sugar paste and create beautiful Christmas festive decorations with sugar paste.We will make Snowmen, Christmas parcels, candy canes, Christmas baubles, and Christmas trees decorated with  sugar paste.We will then package the cookies in cello bags and tied with ribbon bows. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please bring an apron and wear comfortable enclosed shoes.

Thursday 22nd  of December 2011
Childrens Christmas cupcakes 10-3pm. Suitable for children aged 8 and above . Cost of class $220 + gst Total to pay $242. 1 day class  Please note  parental supervision is required.


In this workshop using already baked chocolate mud cupcakes we will learn how to decorate using festive coloured sugar paste and create beautiful Christmas festive decorations with sugar paste.We will make a snowman, Christmas parcels, candy canes, Father Christmas and Christmas trees all from sugar paste. A small decorated board will be supplied to take your decorated cupcakes home on. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please bring an apron and wear comfortable enclosed shoes.


Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th and Friday 30th of December 2011 - 3 days of cake decorating New Year’s Square Mad Hatters cake 10-6pm. 
3 tier square mad hatters New years eve explosion cake . Cost of class $900 + gst  Total to pay $990.


This class is an advanced/intermediate class only suitable for advanced students .We will create a 3 tier square Mad Hatters cake .Creating a chequered effect, quilted effect and a contrasting design, then stack this amazing designed cake .
We will learn how to make spiralled  wired stars and 2012 numbers it will be a great cake to kick your party into 2012! A light lunch and refreshments will be provided on all 3 days. Please bring an apron and wear comfortable enclosed shoes.

.I am based in Daisy Hill south of Brisbane approx. 40 minutes from the Gold Coast and just over and I hour from the Sunshine coast.I am just of exit 24 of the Pacific highway, very close to my favourite store Ikea!

All classes require full payment before attending , I will send you the booking and payment details. If you have not paid you will not be booked in.
Bookings are made on a first in basis.


Once payment has been received I will email you with a booking confirmation and receipt of payment.

Payments can be made by internet banking, payment by cheque made payable to Contemporary Cakes and Classes or a money order available to buy at Australia post to Mrs Thompson. I do not take credit or eftpos cards.

Gift vouchers are also available to purchase.

If a class is cancelled, a full refund of the class will be made , or if you choose , transferred to another class to the same value. No refunds or transfers will be given for classes not attended or cancelled . Please send someone to take your place.
